Hairy Elephant
The newly opened Hairy Elephant of O'Fallon, Missouri, is already distinguishing itself as THE place to coif your child in O'Fallon. Owner Laura Diekemper brings 19 years of styling experience to her company, and her business and people sense combine to create the warm environment that is The Hairy Elephant.
The Hairy Experience begins from the moment you walk in her doors. Laura has created an open reception area filled with toys for her clients to play with while they wait to get their hair cut. Her staff of stylists are on hand once a chair has been chosen (Jeep, plane, race car, or "big kid seat"), ready to trim your child's hair into a neatly styled 'do. And while the styling takes place, children can watch videos or play PlayStation right in their chair.
Children and parents are welcomed into a comfortable, kid-friendly environment from the time they enter the salon well through the haircut, and the feeling remains long after they leave.
The Hairy Elephant also offers manicures, pedicures, highlights, makeup application, styling and birthday parties. A Party Coordinator will help keep the birthday party running smoothly while its guests are styled, manicured, pedicured and made up! The birthday girl and guests can even play dress-up, in clothes provided by The Hairy Elephant.
Most impressive about The Hairy Elephant is their commitment to the community. The salon offers a program for O'Fallon's Girl Scouts to earn their badges through building self-esteem and promoting hygiene. They work with the Autism Center of O'Fallon to educate their employees as to the special needs of children affected by Autism.
The Hairy Elephant also offers programs for Mothers of Preschoolers in an effort to make children's haircuts fun and painless, and works with the local YMCA to promote healthy kids.
