Hugs From Home
Every Friday during the months of March and April, Los Angeles based country radio station KZLA hosted an event known throughout Southern California as Operation Hugs From Home. The event began in support of our nation's military personnel, and extended to support the families of the men and women serving in the United States Marines, Army, Navy and Air Force. KZLA Disc Jockeys broadcasted live from various car dealerships in Southern California, and encouraged listeners to stop by the broadcast and bring donations along with them. KZLA asked for all kinds of items for the families of our troops, from stamps to shampoo! These donations were then packed up and shipped to the children and spouses our country's service men and women.

Dubbed "Operation Hugs From Home", this service provided much needed supplies to the children and spouses of our country's soldiers. KZLA staff and DJ's were on hand to accept donations of much-needed items (ranging from soap to global calling cards to pet food), and local restaurants donated food to encourage the crowds. Each broadcast was dedicated to one particular serviceperson, and friends and family members of that serviceperson were invited to record m>essages to their loved one. The broadcast would then be put on tape, and mailed overseas to the featured serviceperson.

We are proud to have been a part of Operation Hugs From Home, having donated shampoo, bubble bath and hand sanitizer. All of us at Circle of Friends salute the men and women who proudly serve our country both at home and overseas. Go USA!

Though Operation Hugs From Home is currently on hiatus, KZLA plans to participate in various community events throughout the summer. For more information, visit KZLA on the web at www.kzla.com.
