Table Tennis!

Hi my name is Chehn and I love playing Ping Pang Qiu! Otherwise known as table tennis or ping pong. This sport is very popular in China and is one of my favorite ways to spend time with friends and family! Table tennis started in England back in the 1800's as a way of recreating the sport of Tennis indoors. It gave tennis fans a way to play during the cold, rainy months.

My friends taught me to play ping pong. It is played on a table that resembles a tennis court. Players use wooden paddles covered with a thin layer of rubber to hit a small plastic ball. The object of the game is to allow the ball only one bounce on your side and must return it so that the ball bounces on the opponent's side. A point is scored when your opponent cannot hit the ball over the net back to your side. Games usually go to 11 points.

Table tennis is a fun way to spend time with my friends and I find it challenging! My friends and I play at school during our free time. I get to meet new kids all the time. Sometimes we also play at a local park. Here you can see people of all ages playing table tennis. I guess you're never too old for ping pong! My dad tells me it's a good way to improve your reflexes, but I just think it's fun!
