Howdy! My name is Susie and I am from Texas. I like root beer, and I love "roundups"!

Since root beer is an all American soda pop most of my friends from around the world haven't tried it before. It makes me sad since it is so yummy, but they probably have other good drinks that I don't know about.

Root beer is a carbonated drink flavored with all sort of fun sounding ingredients - my favorite is sarsaparilla!

My favorite time to drink root beer is on a hot day after riding my horse, Sugar. You probably already know about the horse show Sugar and I go to. It is a roundup!

A Roundup is a coming together - either of livestock to count them - or people to gather around and have some fun! They round up all the cowboys and cowgirls in the area and we have a good ol' time. All the cowboys and cowgirls that come are amazing to watch in the rodeo.

Rodeo is a traditional sport with events like bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel riding, and roping. I don't like to see animals get hurt, and, so far, none have in the rodeos I've gone to. I only wish I could barrel ride as well as some of the older girls. I'll keep practicing.

A roundup isn't complete without great music and a chuck-wagon cook-off! Chuck-wagons were the food wagons for the wagon trains and other groups when they were traveling across the country in the 1800s. It was kind of like a kitchen on wheels. Today, the chuck-wagons make yummy food like cornbread. No matter how good it is, it still isn't as tasty as a cold mug of root beer.
